Croatian moon

Here we are, in Croatia, the Adriatic pearl.

It is a beautiful and historic country which wants to join the UE and the wealthy modern side of the world.

They will get it.

But one couldn´t stop thinking about the war. Every tiny town has a name that sounds of echoes of massacre.

Venice is a beautiful dead town. There is some life just behind the windows of a Palace in the Gran Canale or in the hung clothes of a narrow street. Apart of it, everthing is theather and herds.

I met two young german bikers. All together went to the town. Walking we reached Piazza di San Marco and at night we went back by boat. I could see a nice and elegant woman standed up in a balcony over the Gran Canale. Imagine she and her boyfriend were going to have a hot night.

message for non bikers

There are bikers and there are normal people. It is not racism, it is a fact. The bikers who receive my mails understand perfectly what it is going on and why we are doing what we are doing. They know the truth: no physical action could be best to do is one is wearing cloths. And sometimes, riding could be even funnier than pushing, sweating and screaming like an angry owl if there is also an angry owl who doesn’t love you and pushes, sweats and screams. Better take your bike for a loop, she will love you only for good oil.`

This is a message for non bikers (bikers, you understand everything). If you wonder why the cold, the wind, the back aches, the risk, the rain, the potholes, the broken bones and the expensive insurances, just look at these pictures. If you can not imagina now how one could feel when riding the heaven, it is better you tell me: erase my address from your fucking e-mails.

Life is a Circle. Riding with Andrea from Galway to Munich

Life is a circle. In just two years everything could change completely and going again to the starting point. In April 15th 2008 I left my job as jurist and with no idea about what I was going to do, I took my motorcycle and went to Ireland. My purpose was not clear. Perhaps studying English and calm down my crazy head. I arrived to Galway. In my grammar class I met a young German girl, Andrea Rufing, who spoke very good English. She became my best teacher. We decided to share apartment (not bedroom, dirty minds). Two months later, we moved to Dublin. She taught me a lot of grammar and I taught her how to drink every night and run every morning. Together we did a bike trip following the Cuellar´s Trail, the paths of a survivor of the Spanish Army who got away from the English queen trough the Ulster. That trip ended up in a story published in a newspaper and that was also the beginning of one of my new and most interesting jobs: writing journey reports about bikes and History.

The Irish summer finished and after three months of shared life, we said good bay to each other. Since then, she went back to University and I haven’t stopped of bike travelling. America, Africa, Middle East, Europe. I have done many friends; I have discovered the faith in men, in me and in God. I know now that horizons should always be pursued and I will never give up of doing it. If you do that, will discover at every bend your old shadow and your friend’s paths. When I was going to ride the Southern Germany, I asked Andrea for sharing some miles. I picked her up again on my motorcycle and rode trough Black Forest and deep Bavaria. Tired but happy we arrived to Munich. Surprisingly easy to get on well again. When there are real friends, the absence is never too long, and neither too small the beer of the meeting.

It is worth to ride the World twice just to complete the circle of the friends you have done in the first lap.

Catching up my father´s Harley

I spent last weekend with my parents instead of keep on going on my European segment trip. You´d probably remember my mother trip from Wien to Berlin. Now it´s been my father time of being the bike leader of this family gang. He put on one of his Harley and said to me: put on the other one to visit your grand parents old country home.

Even his brother in law, my uncle Juan, had to follow us on his BMW RT 1150. I have no doubt you will recognize him. Is the toughest guy in the group. I really hope genes work.
